You can already get a draft for twenty dollars a month.
We know. Most of the people who ask us this are already paying for a
chat tool and getting real use out of it. So the question is fair, and it deserves a straight
answer rather than a list of adjectives.
The difference is not that our writing is better. It is that a chat
window is not connected to anything, and this is.
What a chat tool leaves you holding
You remember it is Tuesday.
You open the tool.
You find last month's numbers and paste them in.
You explain your business again, because it forgot.
You get a good draft.
You copy it out, fix the details it invented, and send it.
You remember to follow up in nine days.
Six of those seven steps are yours. The tool did step five.
What happens here
It is Tuesday.
The numbers are already there, because it is connected to where they live.
The draft arrives on your phone, in your voice, with the real figures in it.
You read it and tap approve.
The follow-up happens on day nine without you.
One of those five is yours, and it is the one that should be.
01 Wired in
The work only gets done if it can reach your actual business.
A tool that cannot see your invoices cannot chase them. One that cannot see
your calendar cannot protect your Thursday. Connections are not a feature list here, they
are the difference between advice and work.
Where the money is
Your accounting, your invoicing, your bank feed read-only. This is what turns "you should
watch your margin" into "job 412 lost money, here is why, and here is the re-quote."
Where the customers are
Your CRM if you have one. Your inbox, your quotes and a spreadsheet if you do not. It
reads what you already keep rather than asking you to move house first.
Where the days go
Calendar, jobs, schedules. So a reply can promise a time you can actually make, and a
renewal lands on a week you are not already buried.
Where the words go out
Email, your website, your social profiles, the review sites that matter in your trade.
Published to your own domain and your own hosting, which stays yours.
Where the paperwork lives
Contracts, certificates, licenses, insurance, supplier agreements. Read once, then
watched, so the auto-renew that costs you nine percent gets caught in time.
And the thing you do not have yet
Plenty of businesses have no database, no CRM, and a filing system that lives in one
person's head. That is not a blocker. We build it, fill it from what you already have,
and then keep it current.
If something cannot be connected, you will hear that from us plainly
rather than discovering it in month two. Some systems have no way in, and a few vendors would
rather you stayed manual.
02 The part everyone else hands back to you
There is no setup screen. Because setup is the job.
Every tool you have ever bought had a settings page waiting for you. Paste
this key. Map these fields. Verify this domain. Pick your plan tier for that integration.
It is where most software quietly dies, about eleven days in.
Instead of
"Connect your accounting software" and a screen asking for credentials
you do not have, from a system your bookkeeper set up in 2019.
What happens
We get on a call with whoever holds the keys, do the connecting, and check
that the numbers coming through match the numbers you know. You see the finished thing.
Instead of
A deliverability guide explaining SPF, DKIM and DMARC, three acronyms you
should never have had to learn, and a warning that your mail may land in spam.
What happens
Your sending domain is configured properly, tested against the big
providers, and warmed up before anything goes to a customer. If your email has been going
to junk for two years, this is the week that stops.
Instead of
"Import your contacts as a CSV with these eleven required columns," when
your contacts are in an inbox, a notebook and a phone.
What happens
We build the list out of what exists, including the messy parts, and tell
you what we could not work out rather than guessing and polluting it.
Instead of
A website you have to maintain, on a platform that raises its price every
year and owns your pages.
What happens
Built and published on your domain and your hosting. If you leave, the site
stays yours and keeps working. We are not holding it hostage.
03 The ninety percent rule
We already picked. You can still choose differently.
Most software hands you four hundred integrations and no opinion about any of
them. That is not generosity. It is homework, handed to the person with the least time and
the least reason to care.
The standard, already chosenYour way
Around nine in ten businesses take the default and never think about it again The rest have a reason, and a reason is enough
The ninety
For every kind of connection your business needs, accounting, payments, e-signature,
scheduling, calendar, review sites, we have picked the one most businesses in your trade
already use and standardized on it. It is set up, tested and working on day one, and you
were never asked to have an opinion about it.
You will see the exact list we would use for your business before you pay us anything, so
there are no surprises about what it plugs into.
Why let us pick? Because we see the same trade over and over. We
know which accounting setup makes a four-day month-end possible and which one guarantees
it takes three weeks. You get the benefit of that without sitting through the education.
The ten
Then there is you, the one with the system your whole operation is built around, that you
are not replacing and should not have to. A field service platform you have used for nine
years. A payroll provider your accountant insists on. Something industry specific that
nobody outside your trade has heard of.
We work with what you have. Going your own way is a supported path, not a fight, and not
an upcharge for the privilege.
The honest part: a non-standard connection sometimes takes longer
to set up, and occasionally a vendor simply provides no way in. When that happens you will
hear it early and plainly, along with what it would cost you to keep the system or to
leave it. What you will not get is a yes that quietly becomes a no in month three.
What we standardized on
Since we are the ones making the call, you should get to see the call. These are
the pieces underneath, why each one was chosen over its alternatives, and what it means for
you rather than for us.
SupabaseYour database and your files
Why this one. It is PostgreSQL underneath, which has been the serious
answer for business data for thirty years, so nothing about your records is stored in a
format only we can read. It enforces separation at the database itself rather than
trusting our code to remember, which is the difference between a wall and a promise.
What it means for you. Your data can be handed to any competent
developer on the planet and they will know what to do with it. If you ever leave, you
leave with a standard export, not a proprietary blob.
HostingerYour website, domain and email
Why this one. Plain, standard hosting that serves ordinary web pages,
rather than a page builder that owns your site and charges more every year to keep it.
Domains, email and hosting in one place a small business can actually afford and actually
log into.
What it means for you. The site is on your hosting account under your
domain. Cancel us and it keeps working, unchanged, and any web person can pick it up. We
are not the landlord of your front door.
StripeTaking payments and getting you paid
Why this one. It is what most of the internet runs on, which matters
for something as unforgiving as money. Card details go straight to them and never touch
our systems, so the hardest part of payment security is handled by the company that does
nothing else.
What it means for you. Your customers can pay an invoice by tapping a
link. We could not leak a card number if we tried, because we never hold one.
CloudflareThe front door and the padlock
Why this one. They sit in front of a significant share of the web, so
the traffic floods and automated attacks that would flatten a small server get absorbed
before they reach us. Encryption certificates are handled and renewed automatically,
which removes the single most common cause of a site suddenly showing a scary warning.
What it means for you. Your site stays up on the day something
unpleasant is aimed at it, and the padlock in the browser never quietly expires.
OpenAIThe reasoning behind the work
Why this one. Two reasons, and the second matters more. The models are
among the strongest available for careful work over documents and numbers. And business
data sent through their interface for developers is not used to train their models, which
is the term that lets us make you the same promise and mean it.
What it means for you. Your pricing, your contracts and your customer
list do not become training material for anyone, including the company whose models we
use. That is written down rather than assumed.
If one of these turns out to be the wrong choice for your business,
that is what the other ten percent is for. And if we ever change one of them, you will hear
it from us rather than reading it in a changelog.
The point of the rule is not that our choices are sacred. It is that
a default should exist, somebody should have thought hard about it, and it should not be
you.
04
It acts, then stops and waits for you
The pitch everywhere else is autonomy: the agent goes off and does things. That is
exactly what should worry you about handing over your books and your customers.
Here, the work gets done all the way to the last inch, and then it waits. The bid is
built, priced and packaged, and it sits until you say send. You are not doing the work.
You are deciding, which takes a minute and is the part that needs you.
A chat tool starts from nothing every time. You re-explain the business, re-paste the
numbers, re-describe the customer, and it still gets the details slightly wrong.
This holds what has happened in your business since the day you started: every quote,
every vendor, every decision and why you made it, the phrasing you use with customers,
the one you refuse to use. Month six is better than month one, which is not true of a
chat window.
06
Somebody is accountable
When a chat tool invents a number and you send it to a customer, that is entirely your
problem. There is nobody to call.
Here, work arrives with its reasoning and its sources attached, so you can check the
parts you doubt in seconds. There is a log of what ran and what was approved. And there
is a person on our side whose name you know.
Four ways to get this work done. Three of them are sometimes right.
You are not choosing between us and nothing. You are choosing between us, the
tool you already pay for, an agency, and hiring somebody. Here is where each one actually
wins.

Keep the chat tool
If what you need is a thinking partner and a faster first draft, twenty dollars is an
absurd bargain and you should keep paying it. Plenty of our customers still do.
Hire the agency
For a brand overhaul, a campaign with real creative direction, or work that needs taste
and a portfolio behind it. That is not what this is.
Make the hire
If the job is one deep specialty, done every day, by someone who also needs to be in the
room with people. Hire the person. We would tell you that on the call.
Use this
When there are eleven different kinds of work, none of them big enough for a full person,
all of them slipping, and the cost of them slipping is the thing keeping you up.
Bring the messiest one. We will tell you if it fits.
Name the job you have been avoiding, with all its awkward specifics. You will
get a straight answer about whether this handles it, including if the honest answer is that
you want a person instead.
